Do you think we got this thing working, guys? It looks like it... Ah yes, we've definitely got it now. Hello there, ladies and gentlemen!

[For a moment the journal is swarmed by two pink blobs. Once Duplica says hello they both let out a few cries before backing off. One Ditto decides to stay on the floor, but the other jumps up into Duplica's arms.]

My name is Duplica. I've been here for some time already but I didn't feel like jumping right into using my journal here without first getting a better understanding of how it works. [Otherwise it would be like jumping up on stage without properly rehearsing for a role.] I think I get it now though! Of course, these two were a big help.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you out there would mind giving me any spare clothes you might have. I'm sorry if that sounds a little strange, it's just I don't want to go and take too much from the clothing store you see.

[If she just went in and took enough clothes to make up all the costumes she had back home then the clothing store might have trouble outfitting anyone for the next few weeks.]

I think that's all there is to say right now, I hope the entire audience was able to catch that. Now Mini-Dit, say goodbye!

[At that, the Ditto that had remained on the floor slides back over to the journal, smothering it in pink again. Ditto transition, fade out!

A little time after addressing the journals, Duplica heads to the clothing store to see if she can find any of her costumes from home that might have shown up recently. Luckily, she's able to pick up this outfit pretty soon into her visit. She continues to look around the rest of the store whilst dressed up as everyone's favourite Pokemon nurse, accompanied by her two Ditto which hop and crawl after her all around the store. If anyone approaches her now she'll attempt to pull off her Nurse Joy impersonation, even if she doesn't have a Chansey to complete the look.]

[Nope, Quilava doesn't know the attack yet. Silver smirks, for once his Pokemon's weakness works in their favor.]

Quilava, Flame Wheel now! [The larger Pokemon spins a wheel of fire, rushing at Mini-Dit for all he's worth]

[Here comes the Flamethrower! Or at least a puff of hot air anyway. Duplica tries her best to instruct her Ditto on how to act after the failed attack but it's no good. Mini-Dit is hit and knocked back, singed but still doing okay.]

Your Quilava doesn't know Flamethrower yet? You should really train harder and take better care of your Pokemon, teaching them better attacks is your responsibility.

[But enough lecturing for now. Time to try something a little more defensive.]

Mini-Dit, this time try using Smokescreen!

[Like before, Mini-Dit readies to use the attack, but the outcome depends entirely upon Quilava. If it's successful then a nice layer of thick smoke should soon be setting in, courtesy of Mini-Dit.]

[He glares at her, knowing she's obviously trying to mess with his concentration. It's not like she might have a point or something.]

Ha! Quilava, use Swift! No pathetic Smokescreen will stop that!

[Stop it? No. Make it easier to dodge? Yes. Having blown smoke over the field and gained some distance, Mini-Dit is able to dodge the attack even with its lower speed.]

That Smokescreen worked perfectly Mini-Dit. Now, use Flame Wheel, right through the smoke!

[She knows for certain that Quilava knows this move. Mini-Dit charges forward into the smoke on Duplica's command, heading towards Quilava.]

Ah, I see. [He's not surprised.] My Pokemon and I are from the Unova region, so they would likely have an unfamiliar taste for you.

[But he still smiles.] But to answer your previous question, the friends I have with me are my Pansage, Crustle, and Stunfisk. [Though he doesn't expect for those species names to be familiar at all to you.] I'd be more than happy to introduce them to you once we've reached our destination.

[Shrug. Carlos and Carla and Sherman have green hair and it's never really bothered her.]

There are many hair colors here.

No, think bigger! I'm the Chief of the SOS-Brigade! And for my offering, you should head to my HQ.

Yes, I guess there would be a lot of different colours and styles here. This place seems bigger than some of the towns I know back home, so there must be all sorts of people around this place.

I think I remember seeing your HQ on the map I found at the Welcome Center! Ahah, I didn't expect to be talking to a chief of anything so soon after arriving. But thank you, I can head over right now! I hope you don't mind my Ditto coming too.

[No way is she leaving them alone in her room whilst she goes out to check out clothes.]

I don't recognise those Pokemon at all. [An unfamiliar taste is right. It seems as though Duplica will have her work cut out studying up on these new Pokemon and their moves in future.]

Thank you Cilan, I appreciate it. A Ditto master should really be familiar with every Pokemon out there, so this will be a big help.

[He nods] To be honest, I've heard of Ditto before, but this is the first time I've ever seen a real one in person--they have an extremely rare taste and are close to impossible to find in Unova. [~~Unless you go to the Giant Chasms but we haven't been there yet.~~]

Why would I mind that? [Jeez. But she'll be waiting at the front desk, feet up on the desk]

[NO! The attack hits hard and Quilava goes sprawling backwards. He manages to get back on his feet but it's clear this battle is not going to end with them the victors.]

We're not licked yet! Use Swift again!

Just making sure! [Sadly, not everyone is a fan of her pink, amorphous blobs.

In a few minutes time, Duplica shows up at the HQ with her Dittos in hand and walks over to the front desk. Sup gurl.]

I see. Ditto are pretty uncommon back in Kanto and Johto, but they're not too hard to find. [After all, she has two of them.] If the Ditto over in Unova are incredibly rare then maybe there are some Ditto there with super unique ways of transforming too! [Note to self: Go to Unova. ~~Only don't because you're a side character who will never show up ever again--~~

Before long they've both reached the fountain, giving Duplica a chance to let Ditto and Mini-Dit hop down onto the floor for a moment.] Here we are! You guys stay close to us, okay?

[The attack comes too quickly for Mini-Dit to use another Smokescreen, and with the smoke from before fading all that's left to do is to get out of the way as quickly as possible.]

Hurry Mini-Dit, use Quick Attack!

[The command comes too late, leading to Mini-Dit being badly grazed by the oncoming barrage of stars. It's the clear the attack hurt from the way Mini-Dit winces, but it's not long before it flies forward with a burst of speed, aiming for Quilava.]

[Aaand that's pretty much it. Quilava passes out, leaving Silver beyond humiliated and angry that he lost to a TINY DITTO of all things. He just stares incredulously at the girl, hands clenched into fists as he tries not to basically explode here.]

[Once you're able to take it, he'll hand your journal back to you while he's getting out his pokeballs.]

Well, we may not have Ditto, but there's Zorua and it's evolved form Zoroark--they have a somewhat similar taste in that they can change into other Pokemon, though they can also change their appearance to look like humans as well.

So there are other Pokemon out there that can transform just like Ditto? I'm surprised that I hadn't heard of a Zorua or a Zoroark until now! [Well, there's Mew too, but he's legendary and he can do what he wants.] I'm certain that with a little practice my two Ditto could transform into humans too!

[Damn right they could. The two Ditto bounce around approvingly.]

[Victory! Mini-Dit transforms back into its normal form as Duplica runs over to pick it up and give Mini-Dit a big hug.]

You did great Mini-Dit, we really showed him, huh?

[Duplica's second Ditto shuffles on over to get in on the action, hopping up into her arms with Mini-Dit.]

Hopefully now you will understand a little more about Ditto's true power.

[She looks up to address Silver, looking to go on and mention teaching Quilava some new moves, but she holds back when she notices the staring.]

[Aww, that's cute. Cilan nods approvingly before he has his pokeballs in his hands.]

Now then, allow me to present to you my vintage Pokemon! [Tosses all three up into the air where they open and reveal the Pokemon inside: Meet Pansage, Crustle, and Derpfish--I mean, Stunfisk!]

...how?! [it comes out half-angry, half-intrigued] How did that tiny little blob manage to beat my strongest Pokemon?!

A few hundred, maybe.

[Why did she start talking to a new person, again?]

[Well this is certainly an interesting variety of Pokemon here. Pansage is obviously a grass type. Crustle looks at least part rock or ground. And Stunfisk... Well, it looks like a fish, so maybe it's a water type?

Duplica waves to Cilan's Pokemon before leaning forward to get a closer look at Pansage. Hey there little guy!]

Vintage is right, your Pokemon look like they've be cared for excellently Cilan! They look very healthy.

[Duplica's two Ditto crawl on over to say hello and join in the fun. Pokeparty up in here.]

They're not blobs, they're Ditto!

[Point! Pay attention now, Silver.]

You need to spend more time training and teaching your Pokemon different attacks. It's your responsibility to care for your Pokemon and make sure they're reaching their full potential.
