Do you think we got this thing working, guys? It looks like it... Ah yes, we've definitely got it now. Hello there, ladies and gentlemen!

[For a moment the journal is swarmed by two pink blobs. Once Duplica says hello they both let out a few cries before backing off. One Ditto decides to stay on the floor, but the other jumps up into Duplica's arms.]

My name is Duplica. I've been here for some time already but I didn't feel like jumping right into using my journal here without first getting a better understanding of how it works. [Otherwise it would be like jumping up on stage without properly rehearsing for a role.] I think I get it now though! Of course, these two were a big help.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you out there would mind giving me any spare clothes you might have. I'm sorry if that sounds a little strange, it's just I don't want to go and take too much from the clothing store you see.

[If she just went in and took enough clothes to make up all the costumes she had back home then the clothing store might have trouble outfitting anyone for the next few weeks.]

I think that's all there is to say right now, I hope the entire audience was able to catch that. Now Mini-Dit, say goodbye!

[At that, the Ditto that had remained on the floor slides back over to the journal, smothering it in pink again. Ditto transition, fade out!

A little time after addressing the journals, Duplica heads to the clothing store to see if she can find any of her costumes from home that might have shown up recently. Luckily, she's able to pick up this outfit pretty soon into her visit. She continues to look around the rest of the store whilst dressed up as everyone's favourite Pokemon nurse, accompanied by her two Ditto which hop and crawl after her all around the store. If anyone approaches her now she'll attempt to pull off her Nurse Joy impersonation, even if she doesn't have a Chansey to complete the look.]

[Oh, right... Carving our names into the rock of something-or-other. Meowth, wisest of wise... Meowths. Oh whatever, it was relevant back in her day!]

... Would one of these companions of yours have a Pikachu?

[It's just that the only times she's actually run into Team Rocket have been when she's met up with a particular trainer and his friends, even if they meet in another region. Call it a hunch.]

[...Well Duplica, your hunch appears to be correct since Cilan is a little surprised at first.]

As a matter of fact, he does have a Pikachu. I take it you've met Ash before?

Yes, I have! And Misty and Brock too! I never thought I would ever run into somebody else who might have met him like this.

[How exciting, meeting a friend of a friend in a whole other world.]

[He actually doesn't know Misty and Brock very well at all, but...]

It's not something I had really expected either, since this is the first time I've ever met his friends from regions outside of Unova--still, it's a surprise with a pleasant taste.

[He's met Ash but not Misty or Brock? But they're inseparable! It's not like Cilan could possibly be traveling with him now or anything!]

Same here! Maybe when I finish with the acting competition back in Johto I'll try and see if there's any way I can come visit everyone in Unova.

[But oh gosh there would be so many issues with that. Why is time and memory loss such a pain?]

Now then! Talking about Ash like this has reminded me why I had you come out here in the first place. Do you have those spare clothes with you?

[Except he is traveling with Ash because...well he's Brock's replacement and idk writers or something.]

I'm sure Ash would like that. [Oh, thanks for the reminder. He's sort of suspected what she wants them for now, but he hands over the bag that has a spare of his current outfit in it.] Here you are. I hope this will be sufficient enough for you.

[Wow. The next thing you'll be telling me is that Misty was written out and replaced with three other girls in the mean time. Get real.]

I'm sure it'll be fine. Come on Ditto, Mini-Dit!

[Duplica takes the bag and motions for her Ditto to follow her as she makes a lap of the fountain. Once she disappears behind the fountain and shows up on the other side it seems like she's been able to quickly put her hair up and don the clothes in the bag (and roll the pants up a little, because tall guys are tall). Not only that, but her Dittos have been replaced by a Pansage and a Crustle, thought the Pansage looks a tiny bit shorter than Cilan's.]

Ah, this taste is practically perfect! Wouldn't you agree?

[Her 'Pansage' seems to nod in agreement at that.]

[Yeah, about that--]

Oh! [Aaaahhhh, this is neat. Just grow a few inches and change your hair a little more in color and you'd be spot on!] My, I must agree--your impression of us is in good taste!

[Cilan's Pokemon are impressed as well, especially with the Dittos having impersonated them as well--Pansage has noticed the height difference and is looking at Min-Dit curiously. TINIER PANSAGE...]

[... Well damn.

Just wait for her to get her hands on some stilts, hair dye and coloured contacts.]

Well I would hate to be in poor taste, especially as your- our own sense of taste seems to be incredibly well defined.

[LARGER PANSAGE. Mini-Dit tries to act as Pansagey as it can, looking back with an equally curious expression. I'm not short, you're just way too tall!

Duplica meanwhile tries to keep up with her Cilan imitation-]

Such similarities, were my hair only a different hue then the match would have been complete, a near harmonious and refreshing imitation!

[~~Well you're doing a better job of being a Connoisseur than Burgundy so far--I mean what~~]

Yes, yes, you're quite right! Perhaps it's biased, but I can say with absolute certainty that your portrayal of us has a charm with a passionate flavor to it--speaking as both a Connoisseur and as someone with an interest in acting, this imitation has a worthy taste that earns a seal of approval from us.

[Jiii Tiny Pansage...which Cilan notices a little more now as he examines Duplica's pokemon next.] Your Ditto appear to have done an excellent job of matching with the appearances of my Pokemon as well in order to help create a similar marriage...though, this one seems a little smaller than Pansage is... [Indicating Mini-Dit, though judging by his tone, he seems to understand why it has that name to begin with.]

[~~What was that?! Alors, how horrible! Your Pokemon are all tres grotesque! How do you like my gratuitous french, c'est bon, oui?!~~]

I'm glad to hear you approve, especially as this is coming from someone who also displays a certain enthusiasm for acting, like myself.

[Duplica leans in and gestures to Mini-Dit with an outstretched arm, trying to get Cilan's mannerisms down too.]

Mini-Dit possesses a unique taste, one I'm sure you have never witnessed before. You see, whenever Mini-Dit takes the form of a Pokemon of a larger stature it always remains the same size. Though the appearance changes the true flavour comes through and remains the same!

[As though to better demonstrate this, Duplica nods to her two Ditto, urging them to transform again. Ditto takes the form of Stunfisk this time whilst Mini-Dit becomes a Mini-Crustle.]

[~~Wow that was more gratuitous french than I ever needed to hear in my life~~

...And now he and his Pokemon are doing a bit of a double-take. TINY CRUSTLE IT'S SO CUTE...Cilan gets down on his knees for a moment to get a better look at it.]

Mm, I see~! Despite being of a smaller size than the original, it's still a palatable imitation that is endearing on the eyes--you certainly have a rare Pokemon as one of your partners, Duplica.

It's a good thing Mini-Dit isn't self-conscious or anything. Mini-Dit simply waves one of its claws in response to this reaction. Sup.

Duplica breaks character for just a moment whilst she talks about her darling Mini-Dit.]

Mmhm! Mini-Dit is definitely a unique one! The perfect addition to my team of Dittos that can all transform in their own special ways. [Ahem.] The perfect accompanying taste, rather.

[~~You should be, that was nearly traumatic~~

He nods in agreement.] Yes, that's one way to look at it! It might even be able to give Luke's Zorua a little competition for coming up with transformations with interesting tastes...

[His Pokemon, Crustle especially, seems to think so too as his normal sized Crustle waves a claw back at Mini-Dit as well. And Stunfisk at least seems to be showing some emotion now, looking just a little curious at the mini-Crustle and the other Stunfisk.]

[~~Or should that be traumatique?~~]

Is that so? And what could Luke's Zorua do that gave each of its transformation an exciting flair? I'm sure whatever it is my delectable Ditto and Mini-Dit could match it!

[All the faith in her Dittos. All of it.

For the sake of giving all of Cilan's Pokemon a chance to meet their mini selves, Mini-Dit then takes the form of Stunfisk whilst Ditto changes into a normal sized Pansage. Mini-Dit will even flop over to Cilan's Stunfisk to say hello. Now both Dittos are familiar with everyone!]

Well, his Zorua is like the ones that I mentioned before, in that it has the ability to change it's appearance to look like any Pokemon, or even any human it wants. Luke and his Zorua often do this for movies that they make, since Luke is an aspiring film-maker. [In fact, we've been in two of his movies!] So Zorua can play as the characters in the movies he makes...though, his Zorua's tastes are that it only likes to change it's appearances into female humans or Pokemon. Also, unlike Ditto who can copy the movesets of Pokemon that they transform into, Zoruas in general don't copy the same moves in battles.

Wow, a real film-maker, I hope he makes it big and becomes a star sometime soon! It's not often you see many movies that star Pokemon after all.

[Well. Except for that one Psyduck and Wigglytuff flick. Maaan, why didn't she get invited to audition for that anyway-]

... That Zorua certainly sounds like quite the Pokemon! They have such a unique way of transforming, not counting the tastes this Zorua has. But if it can't copy a Pokemon's moves as well then you must need to use some very convincing strategies to make the transformation seem convincing.

Ah, then you should definitely come to Unova someday! Unova is well-known for having lots of movies with a wide variety of flavors to suit everyone's tastes, and we even have our very own Poke'Star Studios where many of them are made!

As for Zorua, especially wild ones, most of it can rely on being used simply as a defensive mechanism just for tricking people with it's appearance, but if the taste of their disguise is too transparent, they will often just go back to their normal appearance to attack. Otherwise, yes, trained Zoruas have to come up with different strategies for this if they hope to use their transformation abilities in battle.

[Ahem.]

I must say, the way you talk about Unova has certainly left a memorable aftertaste that I will be savouring for some time! To think that there is a region out there that has studios dedicated to the production of Pokemon movies!

Not only that, but a Zorua truly sounds like a delectable addition to any team, be they battlers or a group with a taste for stardom!

[Duplica almost considers what it would be like if she had a Zorua on her own team. It's transformations sound very appealing, but Diito are really the only way to go.]

Mm, you're absolutely right. Luke is indeed very lucky to have such an interesting partner as a part of his team--hopefully he and Zorua have been faring well in Virbank City where they are working on their next movie project... [And of course he hopes Ash and Iris are faring okay as well, since they are likely still back in Virbank City too... ^^;;]

I'm sure he's doing just-- [Actually, hold on a moment.] Aahah, now that I think about it time works differently here and back home now, doesn't it?

[She will have to remember to give the guide another read through when she gets the chance, some of the finer details about this place still escape her.]

When we go home we end up at the same time we were taken from, right? Does... That mean time has stopped for us, or does it rewind, or...?

[Ugh. She's a Ditto Master. Not a Time Master. Who ever thought that at some point she would have to think about the finer points of how time works, of all things.]

[Well, for once, Cilan speaks a little more seriously to explain.] From what I've heard, apparently we will be brought back to the exact point in time that we were at before we arrived here. For our friends and family back at our respective homes, it will be as if we never left.

[But then he frowns and continues on.] However, there still seems to be a few discrepancies for some individuals--a friend could arrive here and have knowledge of events that have yet to take place, or vice-versa. Someone may be from further down the line at a future station, or even farther back in the past at a previous station, if that makes sense. There is also the matter of people that you might be familiar with back at home, but here they have memories of different lives and circumstances, putting them on a set of tracks that are no longer the same and considered only parallel to yours. [Cilan now you're digging a little too deep into train metaphors...] I also have yet to hear if people retain their memories of this place when we arrive back at our appropriate homes and time periods...

[There's a pause of silence now before he sighs.] It can all be rather confusing and hard to sort out--this flavor is quite complicated, more so than others that I've tasted before.

Yes, that makes sense. Or as much sense as being brought to this place is going to make to me.

[Sigh. For all the kind people and other perks there are to being here it can be very confusing when you look a little deeper.

... Train metaphors. This is something she'll have to remember for any futures imitations she does of Cilan.]

I don't think I'll ever be able to properly understand everything that's going on here, but thank you for explaining it all to me Cilan. It looks like I'll be getting off at your station if I ever have any more questions.

[Just wait until you meet Ingo and Emmet on our floor, the train puns and metaphors will flow like water and you'll see why Cilan even knows how to speak in such-length about them...]

Of course. I'll be happy to try to shed some light on things in any way I can...and besides, as complicated as it is, one can't deny that there's something intriguing about the flavors of this place nonetheless.

[Once she finds a Subway Boss coat then she'll break out the train puns too. The entire floor will just be constant talk about trains. ~~No one else will move in. Ever.~~]

Absolutely! There are so many people and new things to try here, I can't wait to become familiar with everything.

[Oh, another question!]
